The winners of the 2011 Prime Minister's Literary Awards have been announced.
The winner of the Fiction award is first time author, Stephen Daisley for his novel Traitor. Traitor is the story of the relationship that develops between an ANZAC soldier and Turkish doctor recuperating in a military hospital during the First World War.
The Non-Fiction award has been given to Rod Moss for The Hard Light of Day, the biographical story of his 25 years as an art teacher at Alice Springs and the relationships he developed with the Aboriginal people of the Arrernte country.
The winner of the Young Adult Fiction category is Cath Crowley for Graffiti Moon and the Children's Fiction winner is Shake a Leg by Boori Monty Pryor with illustrations by Jan Ormerod.
